Wednesday Woes

My Struggle

I was angry. Incensed. Outraged. Why had this happened? My son was dead. Why him? Why now?

Matthew was too young to die. He wanted to get married and have children. He wanted to play in a band. Children should outlive their parents—not the other way around. But with a stroke of fate Matt’s life was over. All plans, hopes, and dreams would never be realized—for him, or for me.

The answer to why me? is this.

The Bible explains that God is no respecter of persons. For God does not show favoritism. (Romans 2:11).
