Writer’s Edit

An idea hits me

So I jot it all down

I read it out loud

But it causes a frown

I tweak it, and change it;

Then re-write it some more

I read and revise it

And I edit once more

I hate it, so crop it

Back to edit and paste

And I don’t really care

How much paper I waste

It’s got to be perfect

And it’s got to be real

So editors will want it

And I contract a deal
