Faithful just Because

Over the years God had answered many prayers for me. He’d made it clear He was my help and strength. And the test of time had proven Him faithful. But what about this time? What about now?

It’s true God never promised to take my problems away. He’d only promised to be with me through them. Trust is what I had to do.

Following the crushing blow of my son’s death I tested God once more.  “Thank you for your mercy,” I said in a faint whisper.

In an instant there was God—bringing waves of comfort to surround me like a warm, fuzzy blanket. It was then I discovered whatever happens in life, God would always be with me. His love and mercy would continue to surround me because I trusted Him.

And that’s a promise I can live with.

“Thank you God for your mercy that is new every morning. Amen.”
