Am I my brother’s keeper?

“Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”

While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”

“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground” Genesis 4:-10) (NIV)

The Bible cautions us to love one another and not destroy each other.

Instead, show kindness–even if you’re not related.

Another note: There are many abused animals who deserve kindness and not destruction.

If you have room in your heart for an abandoned pet, adopt one. Perhaps one way to show the love of God is by providing a loving home for a stray.

In return this pet may become your best friend.
