Death Came

BookCoverImage newRecently on old friend passed away. But, he wasn’t that old. He was only sixty-four. And, by most standards, that isn’t old.

His death, however, came as a complete surprise. Although recently diagnosed with brain cancer, he was still energetic, and active. But when I opened Facebook  a few days ago, his obituary stared me in the face.

The last time I saw him on Facebook, he was taking a road trip on his motorcycle. But then he died. And I was stunned. How did this happen?

We don’t know when death will come to call. In fact, we’re never truly prepared for this encounter. Or, are we?

The Bible says, ““For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord” (Romans 14: 7-8)

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32)
