Today marks yet another recognition of our country’s awesome military. All branches of service deserve honor; Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and all their affiliates.

We are in awe of all the sacrifices made by our military, in all branches, during times of war, and also in times of training.

Many soldiers didn’t come home after war. But of those who did came home, many were scarred; both physically and emotionally.

My own father was in World War Two as were his brothers. Thankfully, all come home. But he was damaged, and scarred emotionally, This, however, impacted not only him, but my life as well.

As a child growing up I also witnessed veterans from World War One. Many had lost limbs, and used crutches. But all were patriots.

Today’s veterans, many the age of my own children, are our new hero’s. They need honor as well, as many have lost limbs, lives, and the capacity to function normally. We are grateful for their service, and honor them today as our newest hero’s.  Our country is safer because of sacrifices made by our military; both today and in the past.

All deserve five stars. *****
